@keeptyrannyfromamerica8519 I find that hard to believe. There shouldn't need to be a specific law stating that you can't use water to make up the difference. Specifically adding water to the mix is a form of fraud and as such shouldn't require a specific law saying you can't do it. It's a misrepresentation of the fuel to do so.

Those are the wrong questions. The issues with ethanol in the gasoline are what it does in terms of corrosion of the engine and the moisture that it absorbs. Fuel efficiency definitely does take a hit as it's less energy dense than gasoline is. The carbon build up shouldn't be an issue if the engine is properly tuned.

@danafletcher2341 And how do they keep the moisture out of the fuel lines? I'm going to have to look into this more thoroughly as my only option for ethanal-free gas is premium stuff and my motorcycle manufacturer indicates that regular is the preferred octane rating. Meaning that I'm spending more money and if the ethanol gas isn't a problem, then I might as well get that. Also, I get the feeling that the ethanol-free premium gas is getting worse gas mileage than the regular stuff. Which doesn't much make sense to me.
