Honestly, that's why I've learned to use cast iron. Unfortunately, my wife refuses to treat it with respect, so it keeps sticking.

@ArawnOfAnnwn cast iron is better. It's basically just iron with not much else in it and it's been used long enough that we know about any significant health risks. You might get a small amount of iron in your meal, but that's about it.

@factsoverfiction7826 I think the problem is that they were rich enough to have servants to handle that stuff, or replace it, before they immigrated. Her mother is at least as bad about destroying things and ruining the seasoning. My wife regularly goes on a rampage damaging most of our stuff so that she can appear to be cleaning. Try as I might I can't convince her that we're not rich enough to just buy new things to replace all of the things she's destroying and that a but of care is appropriate. After watching the video, I'm tossing my nonstick cookware because she's damaged the coating to the point where is worn through by scrubbing after she burned food into it.
