  2. Years ago, I questioned whether there were more power outages or if we just noticed them more. Several decades ago, we were less likely to have a bunch of stuff plugged in that would remind us that the power had been out while we were away. But, these days it's pretty clear that it's happening more often. We ask more of the grid than we had, and there's been a bunch of neglected maintenance in many areas of the country. Recently, we've been having strings of electric polls falling over during storms because they weren't strong enough after decades of service to withstand and when one goes down, the line of them go with it.

  3. I like how he casually ignores the fact that she's basically a whale murderer. Those balloons go up, float over the ocean, fall into the ocean and choke sea creatures.

  4. The problem there is that in many areas, the main tax revenue comes from property taxes. This is especially true in areas without an income tax. Just banning increases on taxes in California has caused huge financial difficulties for the state. This isn't even talking about removing the taxes, whether or not the electricity transmission utilities make up the difference.

  5.  @ReadABookAndLearn  There are all sorts of NIMBY types out there of various socio-economic groupings. But he doesn't even care to get the word right. This whole ridiculous farce is an indictment on the local education system.
