It's not intended to, it is intended as a first step towards that. But, it would help considerably in terms of some of the other bits that are being done like fixing the existing loan forgiveness programs.

@royjackson419 There probably were a few that went on college exchange programs. But, in those cases it's not really a vacation as there is a fair amount of studying involved and it typically offsets some of the studying at their home university.

It's offset in part by the money that we don't pay for things like counseling and all those public sector jobs that don't pay enough to cover the cost of college. We all benefit from those sorts of people getting educated, we just don't all share in the cost of doing so under the current system.

@zippydooda I don't think anybody was expecting for there to be a massive pandemic. The money I lost due tot he pandemic alone was more than it would take to pay off the little loan I've got. Plus, if we follow your logic, there's a bunch of essential jobs that just won't go filled as they don't pay enough to cover the cost of the required degrees.

And the whole authority that they're using has already been used to extend the no insurance period, so if this is set aside, I can only imagine the cluster it's going to be when they have to roll that back as well.
