  1. That's not how sound waves work. The lion's share of the noise is directed backwards at the vehicles behind you with very little directed forward to the people that may pull out in front of you or to the sides at people who might run you off the road. This whole thing makes people feel safer without the pesky side effect of actually making people safer or requiring any actual work.
