It is, but considering all the people leaving various Christian denominations and just Christianity in general, I do think that aspect will stop at some point in the relative near future. The only reason it hasn't yet, is that there's a small state bonus that tends to favor areas where people haven't yet abandoned the religion. Sure, the Deep South will remain Christian for a while, but the cracks are there.

That was more or less my first thought. Trump and the GOP don't need to stage a coup as the Democrats are trippin over themselves to hand the power over. Anything to avoid having to do something to help the voters out. I won't be voting for either major party in the future unless there's no 3rd party candidate available and I can unseat an incumbent. They're all thoroughly horrible people.

And that explains Clinton, W and Obama? Without them, there likely would have never been a Trump Presidency. The bottom line is that neither party serves the will of even their own voters.

@GEOMETRICINK Yes and unfortunately, when gerrymandering is banned, it can take 20-30 years to see any impact from it. Here in WA, we changed the way districting was done in the early '80s and the changes that resulted are still working their way through. The first new set of maps were produced in 1992.

@edwinsoto6932 Not really, 10-15 seats is a drop in the ocean compared with the seats lost by their refusal to run on policies that are popular to voters and then failing to make any sort of meaningful attempt at delivering. Just this last cycle, Biden refused to give student loan relief, shorted everybody on stimulus checks and hasn't done anything to get us all health care coverage. They won't even give us free covid testing.

@edwinsoto6932 Or they could, you know, try to push policies that are popular with the voters. The GOP stances on most issues are unpopular, and I mean really unpopular, they only win elections because the Democrats refuse to run on popular measures and then actually follow through on any of it.
