  1. He's not wrong and this latest bit is just for show. Bernie realizes that he's sold out too much and that things like this are his only hope of maintaining relevance and tricking people into thinking that he's actually fighting for them. The squad has failed miserably to fight for us when they had the most leverage. Now, they've got 10%, or less, of the leverage they had, but they voted for Cares and they voted for Democratic leadership to continue. This is just a little bit of a crumb to keep people on board even as they sell us out.

  2. We briefly got $2 an hour during the first month or so, since then we've gotten nothing. We're doing a lot more work than one person should be asked to do and nobody is compensating us for the extra work and extra risk. We don't get any of the pandemic assistance or protection and nobody is actually talking about it. There's a ton of talk about the unemployed, but the essential workers that are literally unable to quit and the only reason we aren't seeing mass starvation get nothing at all. $9.6k of unearned, undeserved money and the essential workers make minimum wage and get nothing at all. I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy. It's only been 8 months, people that are in dire states after receiving $10.8k from the feds on top of normal unemployment payments didn't have any savings and were not saving for the upcoming recession. Recessions are common and seem to happen every few years.
