In my experience, running towards the danger has saved my butt far more often than it's caused me trouble. These days, I've seen more threats to my life in civilian life than the vast majority of service personnel do in service. The world changes, and only the more moronic stick to a past that usually didn't exist in the first place.

@wtice4632 Or more likely, I'm not ignorant about how the military actually works. The folks that are actually in harms way due to being on the front lines have always been in the minority. It takes a literal army of personnel engaged in the logistics of keeping the gear coming and the troopers supplied. And logistics has always been the primary driver of victory on the battlefield. Few wars are settled conclusively based on body count alone, it's usually morale and the ability to control the battlefield afterwards that are the ultimate factor. Either you've got control or you haven't.

Except that conservatives are also some of the poorest people in the US, the folks that would most benefit from reforms to the system so that people working are guaranteed to be able to support themselves.Most liberals learn just fine, the difference is that they don't have a desire to go back to the failed policies of the past. Often times they want to move to failed policies of the future, but for the most part at least those policies haven't yet failed. How's that supply side economics working for you?

@MikeInOregon It's always nice to have cowards announce themselves proudly. Makes it really easy to know who's going to be wetting themselves if anything happens.
