That was my biggest complaint about Rise of the Resistance. The degree to which the other riders were messing around, completely killed the effect of the stage after the shuttle and before the break out. I didn't have as much trouble with Universal's Harry Potter area, but the immersive part of that is either out in the area itself, or you're locked down with your stuff in a locker, it made for a much better, and probably more consistent, experience.

@wickedphant0m Yes and even the ATM is themed to Gringotts Bank, which was a nice touch.

@transgoddess123 I was pleasantly surprised at how well they did with the theming of the much smaller version that they've got at their Hollywood park. It's a shame that Florida is so much further from me than Hollywood is as the Wizarding World must be that much better with the extra space they have available to work with.

@beastrule Universal Studios Hollywood has that pretty well thought out. You can pay for one express line use per attraction or unlimited if you like. You just show up and get into a much shorter line after scanning your ticket. With just one ticket per attraction, you can do basically everything in the park in about 6 hours without much trouble. As opposed to Disney's way where you effectively have to bid on use for their lightning lanes and you can't even use it on some of the rides. Then again, Universal is in general a much more recent theme park where they could learn from Disney's mistakes and in general the rides load a lot quicker than they do at Disney. They even go so far as to use moving platforms on may rides to get people in and out that much quicker.

Isn't that basically Knott's Berry Farm?

@adseigo I agree, Disney needs to fix that more than just about anything else. Universal seems to have a better grip on that. Two levels of express line privileges, one per attraction or unlimited for more. And, you just get in the appropriate line and scan your ticket. None of the having to hope you can get a reservation and know that you might have to choose between several other rides, or using it on the line that's the longest. It definitely felt like the genie+ was massively ovepriced compared with the Universal express line upgrade even though the Universal package was a lot more expensive. I think I only had two photo opportunities available with genie+ and the lightning lanes might as well not have existed as they were a real pain to use as you can only have one reservation at a time and popular attractions book out into the evening very quickly, meaning that you might not be able to use it at all on one of the popular rides, or have to give up most of the other uses of the lightning lane prior to that.

@adseigo It's an OK ride, but they really shouldn't have bothered with the interrogation portion as the other riders tend to break the immersion to the point that it's not really worth doing. The amount of time it takes to get people to understand where to stand is also a bit much.

I can't speak of the other parks, but the Harry Potter area of the Universal park is slightly cramped, but not unreasonable for the number of people that were there when I was there and certainly enough room in the shops.

@masteroftoontown Similarly, I do think that Endor would be a bit of a challenge as well. You can do a fair bit with forced perspective (and Disney Imagineers are experts at that) but you still need a fair amount of vertical space to make that work, whether you structure it as a walk on the ground looking up, or in the treehouses looking down. I do think that it could probably be done using screens to make it seem like you're looking down, but that's going to be very tough to accomplish and probably not possible any time soon.

@VestedUTuber Indeed, but I do think that they need to solve the problem of the long lines before they even consider anything like that. Space Mountain is a very long line or you can spend $25 to get in a much shorter line.

I do think that skipping much of the interrogation stuff would be worth while. Especially since you invariably get a bunch of other riders that break the immersive element. I'm not sure what the point is in spending alll that time and money training the literal cast there, only to have people engaging in flash photography and mugging for selfies while the rest of us are trying to enjoy being in that bay with all the storm troopers. Also, would it have killed them to add a little bit of motion to the storm troopers? Even just a little bit of motion to a head, or an arm would have made them come to life.
