@jadzia1071 Or more likely a cat issue. Cats can become self-sufficient rather quickly as they haven't actually evolved since they were completely independent. It's certainly possible that there were missed opportunities, but it's likely that nobody knew he was missing and it was just when he got too close to somebody whose job it is to care about that that the chip was checked.

It's possible, it's just unlikely for a cat to survive in the wild that long. Living in a home the record is roughly 39 years and the current oldest is 36. In the wild, it's going to depend a lot on luck and being able to avoid being eaten or run over by a car though.

Possibly allergies, possibly moving someplace where they aren't allowed to have pets. Sometimes it's because the owner died.

@Mike-01234 If it was put in by the rescue, then how would it have the information for this couple? And how would the information be up to date?

@humpteedumptee8629 There was also Milo and Otis. Animals can travel farther than people realize. Although, the likelihood of being eaten by a larger animal is a major risk. Not to mention being run over by a car.
