Because there's a bunch of cowards out there that won't accept reasonable firearm restriction and regulation.

@warmateo6261 The point is that you avoid the shooter if possible, deny them access to where you're hiding, but if you can't do either of those things, the next thing is fighting with everything that you have available. But, clearly, that's an absolute last option after everything else has been used.

That's the last thing that we need. Then the cops get there and can't tell if they've got their suspect, just a bunch of cowbodys running around possibly shooting each other.

In a mass shooting, every unlocked door is fair game. Just make sure to have your hands up as much as possible running through any exterior doors though. Similarly, any property that needs to be destroyed attacking the shooter or avoiding them is fair game if you can't escape the rampage.

@yeedbottomtext7563 Read the constitution, nowhere in it is there a right to individual gun ownership. The 2nd amendment is about the national guard being able to have weapons independently of what the feds think. And there certainly isn't a right to have enough gun power to take out a dozen or more people in a matter of minutes.

@prefersoxygen9373 And yet, other countries don't have that problem. The Japanese and Brits both have strict laws involving guns where that doesn't happen.

Because it doesn't work. Only veterans that have seen action and complete psychos can be counted on to actually pull the trigger when push comes to shove. Not to mention that now rather than having one active shooter armed and running around, now you'd have more that the police have to worry about and the situation can go on longer. Really, the fewer people with firearms during a mass shooting the better.

Well, thank god nobody is going to actually deal with these guns. Better to just let them keep mowing down innocent people so that we don't get limited to a small number of weapons with a small amount of ammo that can be loaded at any given time.

Sadly, it's probably going to take an active shooter situation in the Supreme Court or one of the chambers of congress to get any actual movement on the issue. The Democrats love running on doing something about it, and the GOP loves running in opposition to any sort of substantive effort to reduce the risk.

@neoasura Show the right to high-powered weapons with massive ammo capacity in the constitution. You can't, because the right that's in there was never intended to allow for the private ownership of such weapons. It's the same reason why we're not allowed to own howitzers and chemical weapons.

A better use of that time would have been to invent a way of getting the politicians to actually do their jobs.
