@Vann20F They're not all gone yet, the courts have been ruling against him in basically every motion that's been filed, it's too soon to see what the appellate courts and SCOTUS do. And keep in mind that his immunity does not extend to other people or to state charges and if the judges in any of these cases decide to start levying contempt of court fines or having people locked up, he can't pardon that. Probably in coming weeks we're going to start to see to what extent SCOTUS is going to double down on the nonsense that they started by giving him immunity. We may not even have to wait for one of these cases to get to them, as they can attach changes to precedence to anything they like, it doesn't have to be germane to the particular case they're ruling on. Not that I'm optimistic. They knew perfectly well that this was a likely outcome of them giving POTUS unchecked authority for official acts and restricting the ability to test whether or not something was an official act.

@Vann20F Whether he's held accountable or not depends a lot on what SCOTUS decides to do. I don't think that the generals are going to be too keen to back him up if it comes to that, given that they have committed to fighting for and upholding the constitution.

@MaeMae-vg8wo Fortunately for her, SCOTUS has pretty much completely eviscerated statutes covering bribery.

Presumably, in these cases, they were lied to and for whatever reason didn't work things out until after they filed the papers with the court. Not that that's a good excuse, but with the chaos, they'll probably get more leeway in the short term than they normally would. That being said, I wouldn't expect that to last very long, just because the judges are very annoyed about having their time wasted with all the BS when they already have a bunch of other cases they're supposed to be dealing with and the government not having any sort of legitimate basis for any of this.

4TrackRadio It's the Silicon Valley ethos of moving fast and breaking things. For non-essential tech gear that's not a particularly bad strategy. But, for things like cars and government operations, it can and does kill people.

@DaddyWarCrimes78 Yes, although submitting false paperwork because you didn't do your job to verify the necessary information is grounds for sanctions and potentially disbarment depending upon how bad it was. Lawyers don't generally have to sign off on paperwork if they're not comfortable with it.

@Ollies2CentsWardill Yes, there probably will be sanctions levied pretty quickly for them failing to secure accurate information to submit to the court, but right now, it's unlikely to be at a level where they're at risk of losing their licenses.

They can attach that to any ruling that they publish if they so choose. They are not obligated to wait for a ruling that is germane to that question if they don't want to. The bigger question is whether they'll choose to do that before or after further assassinations.

Right now due to the chaos, they're probably getting some degree of deference. But, that will run out very quickly and we're already seeing the orders being drafted in a broader sense than they normally would to eliminate wiggle room to try to slide things past the orders. Pretty soon, I"d expect to see lawyers starting to get held in contempt of court if they haven't done their work to establish what facts they reference in their briefs.

@spvillano Exactly, the most likely situation here is that they were either lied to by the agencies or the agencies didn't know what the correct answers were and gave the answers that they thought were correct. That being said, if it continues, there will almost certainly be a bunch of consequences and we're already seeing it in terms of restraining orders that are broader than they would normally be to try and eliminate possible ways of side stepping the order to continue the conduct that the TROs were meant to stop.

What does it say about the Democrats that they lost to this guy twice, and barely beat him the third time. And despite their stated views that it would be this bad, they weren't doing everything in their power to appeal to every voter that wasn't die hard MAGA.

@gaehenry5086 Yes, that's by design as the other methods are to either vote them out of office or impeach and removal from office. The 25th amendment is another option that's more aimed at situations where a President is physically or mentally unable to continue. Although, the Democrats failure to use the 25th on Biden when he was clearly incapable of continuing to serve undermines the ability for anybody to invoke the 25th amendment on Trump and have it have any legitimacy with his followers or those that could otherwise be convinced that he's incapable of serving.
