I remember the Marine Corps doing something similar back in the '80s with all those ads during football games with very attractive men in their dress uniforms. My dad was in during the peak of the Vietnam Conflict, and there's absolutely no way in hell that he would have let me fall for the propaganda. He was even willing to put his money where his mouth was by paying for the portion of my college expenses that the state was paying just to remove that incentive from the table. The navy recruiter calling me was absolute scum though, he kept calling and calling and calling. The way that he tried to prey on the my expected insecurities and promise things that I already had was one of the most disgusting things I've ever witnessed. It pretty much killed any sense I had of the military being at all honorable. There is a certain place in hell for recruiters and whichever politicians allowed them to get a hold on our contact information without our consent. The Army guy wasn't too bad, he called precisely once, was respectful and never called again. I guess, the Army just has smarter people than the Navy, or at least that's the impression the representative recruiters left me with. Never underestimate just how long people can hold negative impressions if you screw it up.

TBH, I don't judge the viewers, but I still don't get why people are willing to watch animation that's often times of such poor quality. I assume the writing is better, because it was always ugly AF compared with the better quality stuff from the US.

Back in the '90s the DOD was subsidizing FPS games as a recruitment tool.
