The problem they had was the pricing and the customer base. For somebody like me, $9.95 for unlimited movies is actually too much as it's unlikely that there's going to be even one movie that I'm going to want to see during a given month and the cost of a ticket is somewhat less than that, if I buy a discount ticket voucher from Costco. Meaning, that I'd have to either watch the same movie twice or I'd have to find 2 movies that I'd want to see. Most months, there are no movies that I'd like to see in the theaters which is a large part of why I don't go. Then at the other end of the spectrum, you have the movie buffs that like to see all the movies or who like to see the same movie multiple times, and they're going to be very expensive as that second ticket is going to put moviepass in the red and cancel out the profit for at least 2 other people that don't use their subscription for the month. The price should have been higher, they should have included a small discount on the concession stand snacks and perhaps limited it to screening towards the middle and end of the movie run when there's less demand for the seats.
