  1. Yep, that's the thing, they had they tried to submit the paperwork earlier in the day and something had prevented it, I'd feel a certain level of sympathy for them. But, it sounds like they literally did not try until the absolutely last minute. What's more, if they had tried earlier, they probably could have notified the court that something had gone wrong.

  2.  @johnschreiber1574  Possibly, but not necessarily. I'm not sure anybody still has their fax machines set to print these days, most of the few folks that still send and receive faxes, do so digitally.

  3. I'm curious about how much you should be allowed to miss a deadline by. In this case if they had tried earlier with more time to spare, perhaps some leniency would have been called for.
