  1. I'm not surprised. I had to pay taxes on money that was stolen by bankruptcy court. I had some money with a company that went bankrupt and the court just let them keep the money, even though it was my money, and I'd already paid taxes on it. It was a small amount of money, and it was more or less just interest, but it did anger me that they could just seize the money that was already paid to me before I could collect it.
