I always wonder why people insist on doing that sort of stuff. Even if something goes horribly awry and they taze you or tackle you anyways, at least you're in a better position to argue that it's excessive force later on. Whereas if you are on their dash or body cam being belligerent and making it impossible for them to conduct things civilly, you're much less likely to get compensation for the resulting damage.

If you've got any information about how to handle traffic stops as a motorcyclist, that would be greatly appreciated. A lot of this is going to apply to us as well, but cops seem to particularly dislike us. Last year an off duty sheriff's deputy illegally pulled a biker over a couple blocks from my aprtment and put a gun in his face without even bothering to identify himself as law enforcement. Fortunately, the biker had the whole thing on tape and nobody was shot. But, the guy didn't even know it was a deputy until near the end of the encounter and only received a settlement due to capturing the entire thing on tape. Obviously, that's not the norm in any part of the world, but biker cop interactions can be more tense due to the bad blood on both sides.

@stevelehto Years ago my brother got a speeding ticket in a local speed trap. I'm guessing that the technique you mentioned here wouldn't have gotten him out of it. It might have gotten it reduced, but it's a local fundraiser, so who knows. But, he went into court along with quite a few other people and they got to plead out on it in exchange for the ticket being suspended. Not a bad deal for folks that can afford to take a morning off work to go into court. OTOH, had he gotten ticketed again in the next year, it would have been a very expensive ticket.
