  1. MADD commenting on this is rich. They're literally the reason he was able to own a vehicle without the interlock device. What a bunch of hypocrites. The state should just pay for the interlock device to ensure that any cars owned by those that have been convicted of DUI are equipped when such a device is applicable. It's crazy how we've chosen to avoid requiring the interlock devices rather than just making it the state's responsibility to pay when offenders can't afford it. It's hardly a perfect solution, but it's likely to greatly reduce the number of repeat offenders.
