I remember being on jury duty many years ago and seeing one of the parties standing a few dozen feet away at the bus station. This was near the start of a trial that was expected to take a full month. I made a point of mentioning that I'd seen them, and I assume they told the judge as well, but I didn't see them in that station again. But, because nothing was said, it didn't impact the trial at all. I don't know that I technically needed to point it out, but they had to go through more than a thousand potential witnesses due to the length of the trial and I didn't want to waste everybody's time on the off chance that it became known later and became an issue.

That would have been a harsher penalty than Trump got for actual contempt of court with all those disparaging remarks he made after just about every day of trial.
