There is no particularly good way of dealing with that. The Federal courts aren't necessarily filled with fewer incompetents than the state courts. At one point, Trump nominated somebody that didn't even know basic legal terms and had basically no experience in court. Courts are going to be subject to intense measures to influence the results, and there aren't any great ways around it. Even a nonpartisan committee to decide whom to nominate still assumes that the people doing the nominating are going to be drawn from a broad range of perspectives, not a bunch of people that share one or two matters of agreement on things like corporate rights or government overreach.
