  3.  Dennis Walker  What about those of us in states where they handled it well? We don't have the option of running a deficit to cover this even as tax revenue has cratered. We also lack the conditional power to keep people within the confines of our state. Apologists like you make me sick. The federal government is the only entity with the power and money to address this and they've chosen socialism for the rich and individualism for the poor.

  5.  Dennis Walker  it doesn't really make a difference, the numbers on both sides are just larger. The GDP and is relationship to the money is more relevant. Giving out $5tn to the people isn't a big deal when it's mostly being doesn't domestically and much of it will be taxed back automatically. Things like UBI are less expensive than what we've done.

  7. Trump has been doing more the last couple months than Congress. Which is sad because most of it is for show. But he did manage to figure out that the CDC can effectively block evictions during the pandemic, which is more than Congress was doing at the time.

Unemployment extended through the end of the pandemic. Free healthcare through the end of the pandemic. Hazard pay four essential workers through the end of the pandemic. PPP money with no cap. But, they didn't even try to get any of that.
