I'm not sure how to really address that. But, if the landlords can't evict people who aren't paying, they won't have the money to pay their loans and nobody seems to care about addressing that issue. The best solution would have been to just give people money directly until the economy is able to open again. The money would have been used to pay for food and shelter and avoiding most of these issues. Meanwhile, those of us that are fortunate enough to have jobs still aren't necessarily getting anything out of it. I've been making significantly less than the people on unemployment through the end of July and in exchange for making less, I also get to deal with additional risk from exposure to the virus.

When Trump is re-elected, he should really thank Pelosi and the Democratic leadership prominently in his acceptance speech because without them, he probably wouldn't have had any hope of winning.

Of course, it is and because the Democrats have been so bad on these issues it's likely to work. They could and should have held out for more with the Cares Act, they could have gone on a press tour excoriating the GOP for not doing a decent job. They could have demanded that all health care costs be covered by the government through the end of the pandemic, but they didn't do any of that.

There's already restrictions on that in much of the country. Which means that this could wind up going on until the spring. On top of that, there's a court process behind it that would take a bunch of time due to the sheer number of cases.
