  1. If we were really "essential" in their eyes they would have held one of the initial packages hostage until something was done. But, at this point, the pressure for measures that would help the people is much less as the donors have already got theirs and now they want measures in place to reduce spending and future debt.

  2. It's not a sensible proposal. Companies are not required to take advantage of the program and have to pay both $3 an hour as well as payroll taxes on the entire $12 an hour. Not to mention that depending upon the business, they may or may not even be making that much by remaining open. An awful lot of goods being sold are being sold at previous prices even though the cost of doing business right now has gone up due to PPE and other measures that have been required.

  3. That's the main problem with this segment, that in a lot of these cases, the businesses didn't know how long the hazard would continue. I'm not sure what other option there was other than to set a date and then extend if need be.
