TBH, I'd do the same to other states if I could. Here in WA we've done a pretty good job of limiting cases and taking appropriate measures, but we have those F-ing morons in other parts of the country that are exercising their right to die of preventable illness as I type this.

It's worse, this virus leaves literal holes in the lungs and possible permanent damage to the heart and kidneys. There's also no vaccination for that. Shingles is a big deal, but it does have a vaccine and generally doesn't become a problem until later on, you get decades of full health even in cases where you get it. And, thanks to vaccinations for Chicken Pox, the number of cases should go down and possibly go to 0.

Part of why that happened is that the Cares Act was so weak. If it had extended unemployment to the end of the pandemic and provided support for the essential workers and businesses, we wouldn't have seen this kind of pressure to open prematurely in so many parts of the country. I've been working at a grocery store and we're completely cut off from assistance in most cases. If our hours are reduced, we don't get relief money, if we're laid off or fired we don't relief money and yet we're making basically minimum wage. We're just now getting to the point where it's better financially to be working, but that's only because the politicians didn't extend unemployment benefits and the stimulus enhancements when they ran out.

It's not worth turning out. Regardless of which candidate wins, the election will be illegitimate. Biden is only the nominee because of rigged voting machines. In some areas the difference between the vote and the exit polls measured into the double digits. If Trump manages to win, it will only because Biden was such a disastrously weak candidate that didn't even have the popular support of his own party and pretty much completely refused to offer the non-voters and progressive voters a reason to vote for him beyond him not being Trump. I forget who said it, but if we're voting for Biden to get Trump out of office, that's going to be done day 1, what about the rest of the term in office?
