Yes, why did they drop funding for hazard pay for essential workers? They didn't even fight for it, most people realize that essential workers needed support for the extra risks we're taking. I make significantly less than the $600 a week bonus the unemployed were getting and we've got nothing to show for it. I'm voting against Pramila Jayapal due to her support for Pelosi and lack of support for actual support for the people.

I already planned to vote against Pramila Jayapal over her vote for Pelosi to be speaker, and I'm going to follow through on it with gusto now that she's been so worthless at crucial moments not sticking her head out to fight for any of my priorities. She's a fake-progressive and her time in congress needs to end.

@harryballs5080 That's the excuse the GOP is going with, but all those extra provisions could have been removed before final passage, the GOP didn't even take the measure up for debate. Provisions of bills passed in one chamber or the other are regularly dropped when they go to conference. Unless they're going through the reconcilation process like Obamacare did, there's no guarantee that any of those things would have remained. And BTW, even if what you say is true, that didn't prevent the GOP from coming up with their own counter-proposal.

Friendly Neighborhood Contrarian Sort of, the Heroes Act passed the House, but never passed the Senate and as such never went into effect.

Yep, she could have gotten something for allowing the final passage of the Cares Act if she wanted to. She didn't want to get unemployment extended, hazard pay for essential workers or any of the rest of it, she didn't even try until after she'd given up all her leverage and even then, she didn't fight for any of it on TV or in the media.

What about essential workers? We haven't gotten shit in any of these deals. We got the $1200 that everybody else got, but only because they couldn't figure out how to exclude us. They gave the unemployment additional funds that they weren't entitled to, but we got nothing. Most of us make minimum wage or slightly more and we've gotten no support.

Not to mention essential workers that have been bent over pretty good by both parties.

@foragingfleur She should, that's more than I make. It's absolutely unacceptable that there's nothing for essential workers in any of the current proposals. We've been doing additional work and taking additional risks and we haven't gotten anything that hasn't gone to everybody else. Many essential workers didn't get any hazard pay of any sorts and those of us that did received a small amount that ended months ago. What's more, because our jobs are deemed essential, we don't get funds for losing hours or for losing our jobs unless we normally would. The end result is that we're effectively working with guns to our heads as we don't get any of the money that others get and still have to pay our bills.
