  1. You can thank St. Ronnie for that, back in the '80s he was in large part responsible for allowing the media to consolidate. Even though I live in a major city, there's only one major paper and increasingly the media is owned by a small number of people with no vested interest in questioning the powerful. So, you get this comical situation where it's basically just bloggers and youtubers calling the corruption out.

Yes and essential workers never got any assistance from the government even though we were cut off from any assistance if we were to lose our jobs or have our hours cut because the business hired more workers. Non-essential workers would get pandemic assistance if there hours are cut, but essential workers don't.
