Comments by "SmallSpoonBrigade" (@SmallSpoonBrigade) on "Cenk Uygur: Will Progressives Be Able To Move A Biden Admin?" video.
Cenk's thinking like a real establishment Democrat, give up all your leverage in order to gain the potential for momentum. Then claim that you've been very effective at resisting so you need more money and votes because, god damn it, you're not Trump.

That's the thing, as long as the Democrats are allowed to rig their primaries, they can't save democracy. At best they can manage it's fall.

Cenk is hopelessly naive if he thinks that a one term President is going to be moved at all after getting what he wants. He didn't want our votes now, why is he going to want our support after he gets what he wants? Also, Trump is a threat to democracy, but what about Biden and the DCCC fixing of primaries? Is that not also an existential threat to Democracy?

@Sitarman345 The lesser of 2 evils is a large part of why the Democrats keep running such horrible candidates. Biden is allegedly less evil than Trump therefore they don't need to earn our votes. I remember 20 years ago during the run up to my first Presidential election vote that a lot of my coworkers were circulating that quote about the lesser of two evils leaving you with lesser and evil. At the time, it seemed rather short sighted, but now I get it.

@Ciph3rzer0 Perhaps, but more likely, there will be a bunch of Democrats that just don't bother to vote for anybody. Then there will be folks like me that usually vote Democrat that choose to vote 3rd party. The polls are incredibly narrow and getting narrower when you consider the magnitude of the failure that President Trump's term in office has been and the body count in the US alone.

Biden losing is the only glimmer of hope that the DNC might turn the corner and start worrying about earning votes in their own party again. Yes, I do mean glimmer as I doubt that will be enough. But, if he wins, you can be sure that it's going to be at least another few election cycles until they reconsider that strategy. The best thing would be for the Democrats to lose, but get enough seats in the Senate to run a real impeachment trial that actually subpoenas witnesses and digs up whatever dirt there may be. And stops rubber stamping pro-republican judges.

I personally always hand over my money for a used car before I ask any questions or do any bargaining because after I've bought the car the seller is clearly going to fix any issues with it. Look at me, I'm like a really smart guy. Yay Biden, we're going to push him to the left after giving him our vote for not being Trump. I'm the smrtest person of all time.

Why should Biden crush Trump? Trump has people voting enthusiastically for him and he's done in part what they wanted, burned down the establishment. Biden is promising absolutely nothing to the voters except to take us back someplace we don't want to go and he couldn't even win the primary without rigging electronic voting machines and having the donors get all the other candidates to drop out at once. As horrible as Trump is, that's not anywhere near enough. It hasn't been since Clinton in the '90s that the race has even been about policy. Since then it's just the same, tired refrain of how bad the other buy is. Pathetic.

That's why Trump is likely to be reelected. Biden is horrible and he's done a tremendous amount of damage over the course of his career. Why should I bother to vote for another lesser of two evil candidates when he wants to cut social security and will fight against medicare for all.
