I get the logic, as long as there's a shortage of vaccine, it doesn't make much sense to send it to people where the doses are effectively going to be wasted because the people of the state aren't taking things seriously. But, by the same token, how is this any different from denying most essential workers vaccine because old people vote more often? That's what it comes down to, the people most likely to die are older, but they're also the ones most able to avoid going out in public. The essential workers in public facing jobs didn't choose to have those jobs assuming that we'd be thrown under the bus in case of a pandemic. It's really disgusting that the country isn't vaccinating us. We should be vaccinated if for no other reason than the grocery and transit workers, in particular, are some of the few people that can't be avoided. Unlike the medical workers that are trained and equipped for the task, we're not and we're paid much less than they are.

  2. People that understand what's going on want to be vaccinated. No vaccine that's passed the stage 2 trials has ever had worse side effects than actually getting covid. I had it early on and I don't think I've ever been that sick in my entire life. Personally, the people refusing shots that they have access to for reasons other than being specifically warned not to take them based on their own medical history pretty much disgust me. The shots are safe, the people that I know that have gotten the shots haven't gotten safe and I haven't heard or seen anybody at the pharmacy at work get sick either.
