@trishajury2959 Treason isn't really a thing anymore, not since most of the GOP politicians at the federal level were allowed to sign fealty pledges to Grover Norquist with no repercussions of any sort other than them being reelected.

@cheeserdane Yes, he's doing things that even a confirmed cabinet secretary couldn't do. The fact that he's not confirmed and only is where he is because he was allowed to buy votes is deeply, deeply disturbing to anybody that cares about the rule of law. Which illustrates the point that the right doesn't seem to be so much about the rule of law as meting out harsh punishments for people accused of crimes, when they aren't on the right.

Yes, and I for one will continue to not buy his poorly engineered cars. I will continue to not post on X and I will continue to not pay money to any of his other ventues. That's probably the only thing that has any hope of impacting his decisions, but I don't think that he's likely to do that now that he's been allowed into the government. I hope the people that were boosting blue no matter who like our steps towards instituting Apartheid here.

Overreaching to screw with the FBI is unlikely to be a good idea. They are generally a rightwing agency that was involved in things such as McCarthy's Red Scare and have over time interfered on behalf of the Republicans. They've probably also got a bunch of dirt on Trump and his allies and it wouldn't be surprising to me if they happen to "find" the same sort of evidence that they more usually use to railroad the poor when they need a terrorist plot to keep people scared.

@KylesMom1983 Exactly, Biden didn't finish the job in terms of putting all the guard rails into place that he could have. The DNC let Biden run largely unopposed in the primary, ensuring that we wouldn't have the strongest possible candidate to go up against Trump and they didn't really bother to try to earn votes from men, especially white and working class men. And then, we got stuck with Harris as the candidate who couldn't even seal the Rogan podcast interview even though he was willing to give her some time, even though they didn't even bother to ask until early October before the election. Not to mention that they were more concerned with Bernie being elected in '16 and '20 and waking voters up to the idea that the government can do things for the people when the politicians aren't all bought and paid for by similar people to the ones that own the GOP, just with a slightly less monstrous agenda.

@davidrosenberg9615 The issue is that he controls the DoJ and SCOTUS and there's a decent chance that the court could decide that pardons now apply to state convictions as well if they try. So, the DoJ won't prosecute at the federal level as he's their boss and the SCOTUS has already said that he's immune.
