Yep, people need somebody more substantial than that loser to be the culprit because JFK's assassination changed things substantially, we may not have wound up having a full on go at Vietnam if LBJ wasn't having to guess what JFK's ultimate goal was in there beyond the plans he left for the shorter term. But, the whole thing is easily explained with facts that aren't in dispute, we know Oswald was a communist, we know the Russians didn't really like or trust him, we know that it only took one hit to kill the President and that Oswald had been working at that book store. You could make sort of an argument that the change of route was convenient, but nobody has produced any evidence that the government had reason to suspect such a loser to succeed, or even try. This is before computers powerful enough to track all the malcontents in Dallas existed.
