Because people prefer what can't be seen to reality? It isn't right what happened to him, but it's also not right what all the hatemongers that use the Bible to back their views do either.

@Bootsystem66 Not true, everybody in the area is so sick of fighting that an impartial 3rd party is likely to be accepted just to be done with the violence.
2
@PatchesOHoulihan-hi2tb I completely agree. As poor judgment as I think he was exercising in what he did, he did have a constitutional right to do it and shouldn't have been subjected to those attacks or arrest.
2
So you're saying that God backs war criminals now? How is that not heresy? The governments on both sides are horrible, but there are civilians that just want peace and these sorts of messages don't help.
2
Bravely? It's literally their job to take cases. The consequences of losing for an attorney aren't exactly extreme.

@belindaknight8171 It wasn't right, but by the same token, it was pretty much inevitable given the way that so many "Christians" spend more time sticking their noses in other people's business and instigating fights than living their lives. People have pretty much had it with Christian interfering with our lives, and some portion of us are violent and lacking in self-control. Considering how important Roe v., Wade was, it was shockingly poor judgment to decide that was the time and place to try to spread the gospel. Still doesn't make what happened to him right, but he can't really claim to be surprised that it happened either.

They don't and the Israeli military doesn't even try.

It can also be extremely obnoxious. I was on the train a couple days ago and somebody was spouting that nonsense rather loudly.

I hope that he learned not to disrespect the locals. The violence and arrest were clearly uncalled for, but that doesn't make his behavior any less disrespectful. I'm glad the court case ultimately came out right as he should not have been arrested for simply being disrespectful.
1
I must have missed the part of the story where he was crucified.
1
More like we don't like being disrespected by condescending jerks. The violence and arrest weren't called for, but that does not mean his behavior was appropriate. Considering all the BS that offends Christians that Atheists and other religious believers are expected to accommodate, it seems kind of hypocritical to use his 1st amendment speech in this fashion.

In the long term y'all are going to lose, because people prefer reality to fantasy. It will take a long time for the South to wake up and accept reality, but it will happen eventually.

There has been one election in the last 20 or so years, and Hamas won fewer than half the votes even as they tried to portray themselves as moderates. Meanwhile, there have been a number of elections held in Israel where war criminals keep winning. Doesn't fit your stereotype, now does it?

Pensacola probably has more Christians than Seattle does. In this neck of the woods, we don't particularly care for that sort of fantasy stuff being pushed on us. It doesn't make the violence OK.
1
That would be a lot scarier if it wasn't based entirely on fantasy.
1
@BrotherNate27 No, not without twisting logic to the point of breaking. There's no basis for assuming that God exists, and the logic that people attempt to use is tortured at best. People believe it because they believe it. There isn't any actual evidence to back it up though.

@marymcdonald3897 And if it was their land, that would be fine, but they've been stealing land for decades and pushing the people who were living there into these apartheid regions.
1
Fortunately, Christians are going to lose. People are not at all interested in such bedtime stories.
1
We don't want people like that here. That doesn't mean that the violence was acceptable, it wasn't, but we really and truly do not need people bringing those sorts of retrograde beliefs here. We are collectively well aware of the existence of Christianity and the core tenets. If we don't already go to Church, there is a reason for it. Stop trying to convert us.

Because standing up against terrorists in favor of war criminals isn't something that lends itself to catchy slogans?
