  1. I doubt he would have gone up, the video doesn't specify why, but I'm guessing that part of the reason was that he's a big guy and the capsules aren't very large. From a practical standpoint, it just wouldn't have worked. The maximum height is 76 inches, but Big Bird is roughly 100 inches tall. Not to mention the practical issues with him wearing the gear at various points during the mission.
