That's definitely true. The issue with recordings is that the local laws may or may not allow one party to record without the consent of the other. I kind of wonder what happens if you just say that you don't consent to being recorded and hang up. Because if you don't have the option of refusing the recording, then it's illegal in many places.

@BrendonKing Considering that in most cases there's no debate and the worker didn't necessarily do anything wrong, that would definitely be a step in the right direction. It's not like there's any real compassion being shown to the employees in terms of how this is being handled.

I definitely trust that corporations will screw over the workers to benefit the execs.

@brandishwar That's also where the practice of the employment security people effectively working for the employer came from. The tax revenue that funds the department comes from the companies, so they'll side with the employer in virtually every case and accept assurances that evidence exists from HR reps that may not have even seen the evidence themselves. Assuming it even exists.

@KittenBowl1 It depends where you are, in some places you don't need permission, in others both parties need to agree.
