When I was a kid decades ago, the only stores that I remember offering a cash discount were selling computers. I thought there was a period of time when the credit card processors had that practice banned, sort of like how they had restrictions on minimums being required to use a card..

It's more of an issue because companies like United Health Care are apparently permitted to have a financial stake in multiple layers of middlemen. So, it's not just that they've inserted themselves between the patients and the medical providers, they're also providing services that they can mark up to help their insurance branch increase how much that 20% of the medical activities is because it's then based on an artificially increased amount for services where they're taking profits at that level as well.

@TheMemeCommander TBH, every year, it gets harder and harder for me to understand why I should have any faith in voting rather than dressing up like a homeless person and shooting a random exec. I don't personally support such actions, but clearly voting isn't working as the only factor that actually predicts what happens with legislation is the amount of money spent on trying to influence the results.

@kayleethegreat111 Exactly, just because somebody inserts themselves into the middle of some transaction says nothing about what they do or do not do to deserve to be there.
