  1. Yes, and it doesn't even require everybody to turn on them, just for the ones that aren't sadistic monsters to not feel like stepping in to help them out. The best case scenario for the billionaires is to hope that things convert into some sort of commune and do their fair share of the work, or more.

I guess the plan for the rest of is to go go mob the airports so they can't get away, given that only a small fraction of us would have any hope of getting away from the cities far enough to save ourselves. I think the only situation in which these bunkers would be of any use would be a deep impact style of issue where a meteor is on course to smash into the earth. In that case, this could potentially work, but the whole business of the billionaires expecting to remain in charge when the economic system shifts into one based on the work that still needs to be done is rather naive, to say the least. Really, being nice to the security folks, ensuring that they and their loved ones can come, and automating as much of it as possible is the only way. But, they aren't likely to do that because if they were those sorts of people, they wouldn't be billionaires.
