That happens because companies are effectively held hostage. Anybody with the skills to be a CEO, even a bad one, is probably not going to accept the job for less than millions of dollars. On top of that, the board of corporations rarely, if ever, are willing to admit that the CEO they've got is worse than average, so they pretty much all get above average compensation.

99% of the people who use Fx were the ones that didn't jump ship over the last couple decades as the developers put more and more effort into chasing people away. Really, Fx is the Democrats of the browser space. Moving further and further towards the rivals and being surprised why hardly anybody is using them any more.
