Years ago TD Ameritrade leaked my email to spammers because they weren't securing their stuff and I heard about it from a technical website weeks before they fessed up that there had been a data breech. I had basically no spam before that. Maybe one or two a month from spammers trying random addresses, but after that point, the spam just kept flooding into the account. Fortunately, the spam filters on that account are pretty effective, but I'll never get the account back to where it was before they screwed it up.
