  2. I agree, although, I do think that sometimes lifetime being the useful life of the product can be an appropriate use as well. But, that depends on what we're talking about. If the product is still under warranty coverage past the point where 90% of people have thrown it out or otherwise disposed of it, I'd say that's probably still a reasonable thing to label as having a lifetime warranty. Or perhaps more to the point, software that's purchased solely to interact with a particular product type. I bought transfer software for an MP3 player decades back and it wouldn't really make much sense for them to still be updating it now as hardly anybody still has that MP3 player.
