@akrenwinkle I think it's more likely that he's just that naive. He should have threatened to take his voters with him if they didn't eliminate the super delegates completely from future conventions and make other concessions to shore up support. That might have allowed Clinton to win anyways, as there would have been some reason for his supporters to vote for her.

I won't be voting Democrat again if he isn't the nominee after the various shenanigans that have gone into trying to hand the nomination to somebody so obviously incapable of executing the duties of President or beating Trump.

It's less rigged this time than last time, but it's still rigged. All the DNC needs is for Bernie to fail to get enough delegates to win on the 1st ballot. Then they can bring in the super delegates on the 2nd ballot and tip it to Biden. That's assuming that Bernie has the plurality. If he doesn't, then the result is likely the same, but there'd be no grounds for complaining.

It only works that way when you're the establishment favorite. If you're not, then you need to prove you deserve the nomination to party officers.

@macgeek2004 Whether or not he runs 3rd party, the result would be a 2nd term for Trump. There's no way that Biden is going to be able to beat Trump in the general election. At least if Bernie runs as a 3rd party on the green party ticket or something along those lines, there'd be a non-zero chance of Trump losing.

@sisyphusvasilias3943 You don't think that trying to prevent him from getting an outright majority so that they can use super delegates on that second ballot is cheating?

rustydog0329 Pretty much. That's why in these kinds of situations, the insurgents tend to resort to terrorism. I'm not promoting that, but realistically, that's what it would take to bring down the establishment if Bernie doesn't break through.
