Which is why you have to go after the tools being used first and foremost. But, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't also ensure that everybody has appropriate mental health treatment and a decent livelihood. But, you don't see this kind of carnage in other developed countries because they actually care enough to restrict who can own what kinds of firearms.

And congratulations, you sirs are part of the problem. We know relatively conclusively that the problem here is the guns. We've seen other countries like Australia go after the guns aggressively and they've only had one mass shooting in the last 20 years. If you buy into the BS about people having an individual right to bear arms that can't be infringed upon, then the problem cannot be solved. You're never going to get to all the people that could have a secret stockpile they purchased on the black market. Or as in the case of recent mass shootings lawfully purchase firearms. These are crimes that happen purely because of the availability of the tools necessary to commit them. There's a tiny number of people that an engage in a bombing campaign and other weapons are just not efficient enough to carry out anything on the scale of these attacks. Not to mention the fact that tens of thousands are killed by firearms each year as the cause of suicide. We know that we have to reduce the numbers and type of firearms available, but videos like this make it sound like that's not the solution. It is the only solution that's going to work. Most of these guys are just not diagnosed and as such, couldn't be excluded from owning firearms in most cases, without infringing upon the rights of other firearm owners.

@timwasko847 That more or less proves the point that what they did worked. It's been ages since we went even a week without at least one.

Could you please stop lying about firearms being used for self-defense? That number is a tiny fraction of the suicides alone. It's more or less a statistical anomaly that would go away completely if we got real gun control regulation and did buybacks to reduce the available supply for the black market. Other countries have serious restrictions on gun ownership and they do not have these problems. All the "solutions" you're proposing are at best half-steps to work around the belief that people need the firepower that's currently available. You don't need these sorts of weapons for lawful use and you definitely wouldn't need them if they were removed from the population.
