@elliotalderson4568 They vary a fair amount, just not on anything that's actually important. They vary somewhat on social issues, but both parties favor the rich and continual war. Sure, the GOP does seem to want more of both, but the Democrats don't really do much in terms of undoing any of that nonsense. So, you get a ratcheting effect where it just keeps going further and further to the right.

Won't happen, Bernie is much too old. He would have been either just getting out of office having served his 2 terms, or about to start his second. And Walz has the taint of this loss on him.

Also in some states the vote went solidly for Trump, but the voters voted to move toward protecting abortion rights.

IKR, when has that ever resulted in them learning the right lesson about what happened?

@KareemDaKing Precisely for whom should they have voted if they wanted something different than the failed policies of the last 30 years?

I'm not. The DNC rigged 3 primaries in a row for bad candidates. And the last time we had a competitive democratic primary was 2008. They forced Harris' nomination through in order to guarantee eligibility in OH, but they wound up losing the state anyways and they had a candidate that the voters had no say in, hadn't bought into and didn't even know what she was going to be about. On top of that, she failed to run on a 50 state strategy, which meant that she didn't have people outside of the battleground states talking with their relatives in those states about the election. They basically ignored me completely apart from please for money. Certainly numerous of those for every message about what they're going to do to address the issues that I care about.

On what basis? Even if she did successfully challenge the results, nobody would accept her as being legitimate as she didn't even win the democratic primaries.

@cweretelnyk The Republicans have effectively won ever election since the '70s in terms of the policies that got put into place. It's been a question of more moderate or more extreme rightwing. Even the most liberal thing that Obama did was a health care policy that was more right wing than what Nixon offered.

Bernie helped squash Williamson. I voted for her in the primary anyways, but Bernie helped squash her before she really even got to my state.
1
What grassroots support? She was chosen as part of a strategy to squash the grassroots network that Bernie had built up in 2016 and 2020.
1
Trump won because he had a base of support that wanted him, rather than being forced on the voters the way that Harris was.

And if the Democrats would let the voters choose the candidate, it wouldn't have been. The fact that it was this close in spite of nobody wanting Harris and her being a diversity hire to piss off the progressives and she still did this well is rather amazing.
