@KatarinaS. I house sat for a couple that had one cat that would barely eat and one that was on a strict diet. You pretty much have to take the skinny cat's dish away as soon as it stops eating. It's a pain, but as long as the skinnier cat isn't losing weight, it's probably getting enough to eat.

@kristinaanderson4160 A lot of that has to do with how you introduce them to it. But, cats are desert animals and don't have a genetic history with positive interactions with water. If you feed them wet food, they may not even drink the stuff more than a couple times a month.

Probably delusion. So many pet owners allow their pets to manipulate them into over feeding. Really, having pets that are obese is a reflection on the owners not measuring out the food properly. Snacks and treats are fine, but they need to be included in the calorie budget or you're going to get a fat pet.
