@crab7715 It's probably more accurate to say that it's a habituated racoon, when animals are domesticated their features tend to change as a result. It's part of why those foxes that the Russians domesticated don't really look much like typical foxes and have more dog like features.
1
Why would you? The goal isn't to scare the law firm, it's to scare the party that's going to be stuck paying the bills.
1
@ericconnor8419 Yes, and even if you win, chances are that it comes out of the liability insurance that they have which just means a marginal increase in their insurance rates that they then pass on to their next clients.
1
@majesticunicornturle Essentially yes, America has a left, it's just a non-voting left because there's nobody to vote for. Anybody that appeals to that isn't allowed to win or in the rare exception is corrupted almost immediately. Just look at how quickly the Squad got corrupted.
1
Not really, they were trying to get Democracy. They didn't have a strong democracy that had a history to really look at. It wasn't until after WWII that they finally achieved a generally stable democracy.
1
So, who do I vote for to get it to stop? I was stupid enough to vote for Obama and he was an absolute failure. He did nothing to prevent the SCOTUS from falling into the GOP hands. He backed down any time that the GOP threatened to filibuster a bill. And, then he helped rig both the 2016 and 2020 elections for weak candidates.
1
I remember suggesting in 2000 that Gore shouldn't have accepted the results, here we are nearly 25 years later and I was right. Clinton was President and Gore legitimately won the election, they should have just ignored the bad SCOTUS decision that even they knew was a bad decision because they didn't want it used as precedent in future elections. A decision that doesn't set or confirm precedent isn't a real ruling anyways.
1
You do the best at integrating those promos into the videos.
1
The real problem is that there are insufficient reasons to turn out to vote for Harris. If even a quarter of the non-voters turned out for a candidate, it would result in a land slide, but the Democrats are allergic to offering things to the people that they want and the GOP isn't afraid to.
1
@lordraiden007 If they were doing that, then it wouldn't be any different. The difference comes from YouTube using the algorithm to push things for profit rather than because the user is more interested in that type of content. Or the occasional random video to see if the user wants other types of content.
1
There's a lot of better groups out there that support safety and reasonable efforts to keep weapons out of the hands of people that would misuse them and then prosecute those that do.
1
That's what happen when you have a uni-party, the elites don't really care which it is, because they'll be OK either way. The people didn't get to choose Trump's opponent. Had Biden been primaried, we likely would have wound up with a different nominee with positions that people understood and wanted. It took weeks for Harris to even announce what her positions were going to be when Biden finally dropped.
1
@gretahendrick1937 No, it's more like switching from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey to Circus Vargas of Cirque du Soleil. A bit less circusy, but still a legitimate circus.
1
@Dandelion_Stitches Yes, and yet the DNC forced Kamala on us without making her justify her nomination. As horrible as Trump is, he at least has won primaries and is doing what some portion of his base wants. Kamala is the nominee because she was the body left when Biden's performance was so bad that they couldn't continue gaslighting us about his abilities.
1
The first one is even funnier when you realize that Orcas aren't whales, they're dolphin.
1
It's been going on for decades where the elites in both parties have systematically disassembled anything that might lead to accountability for those in charge.
1
That would only work if SCOTUS wouldn't invent new justifications for it not being real bribery.
1
@TheDarthbinky It did abolition it. What your referring to is a loophole where convicted prisoners, who can still be used for slave labor under the amendment as part of their punishment, were leased out to private interests. So, it's kind of misleading to say that FDR criminalized it when he mostly just modified it to be less of an impact on those that aren't convicted of any crimes. These days much of that work is done by illegal immigrants anyways, and we just lock the prisoners up in some facilities for 23hours out of the day. Which seems somewhat less humane.
1
Once SCOTUS said that Trump had to be on the ballot in CO, it was pretty much all over in terms of invoking the 14th amendment to prevent him from running. Theoretically, he should be barred from holding the office, but SCOTUS is unlikely to actually respect the constitution on that issues.
1
It's only hard to prove because the Supreme Court has been bribed so many times that they think it's normal and acceptable.
1
Considering how much of a fan the GOP is of literacy tests, perhaps we could have literacy tests for people that want to be federal judges.
1
Her father was an experienced armorer and I'm guessing that whoever it is that hired her thought she was up to the job. AFAIK, we don't know how the live rounds got on the set or how they wound up in the revolver, but there were some found on other belts later on. It could well be her incompetence, or it could be somebody else's, but I don't know that the actual answer is something that we know at this time other than who was and wasn't convicted.
1
@binaryblade2 Yep and that's why you don't normally have people at the range worried about whether they've got dummy rounds, blanks or live rounds.
1
If he had a camera while paying them to do both sides, that may have constituted legal pornography.
1
@gilesluver That wouldn't be more representative. There would just be more representatives. We already have so many representatives that getting to somebody that actually cares about your vote and is on the appropriate committee can be a bit of a non-starter.
1
@airplanes_aren.t_real No, you can be a producer by just writing a check. If you've got enough money you can be a producer on just about any movie you like, just sign the check and hand it over. The producer has responsibilities in terms of hiring and firing people on the set as well as ensuring that things are moving along. If an actor has a tantrum, the producer will often be the one that goes to their trailer to coax them out and back to work.
1
@MarkRobbo96 The US has far, far more judges, some individual states have more judges than the entirety of the UK. And on top of that, we've also got the federal court system. On top of that there are huge numbers of potential judges to be picked, if you want somebody that can rule reliably the way you like, you can usually find a bunch of lawyers that would be willing to do that unironically as judges.
1
@TesterAnimal1 We used to, the way it's set up is that the President nominates justices and the Senate confirms them. However, ever since Bork was denied his seat, there's been a bunch of partisan hackery going on to try and deny nominees their place on the court. In the case of Bork, he was a hack and somebody that Nixon had used to fire the prosecutor that was looking into his crimes after others had quit in protest.
1
I love how he actually had the math of what the increase was put into the video so we knew it was right.
1
@jaycobarbogast That's the thing. It puzzles me that people keep giving them money, only about a third of their members support their extremist ideology, most of them are willing to accept reasonable restrictions as long as they can still get the hardware they want. Most of the members are OK with background checks and efforts to keep firearms out of the hands of terrorists, criminals and individuals who have mental illnesses that make them likely to misuses the weapons they buy. And there are literally dozens of organizations that would make better use of the money to that end than the NRA has.
1
@warrenlehmkuhleii8472 The National Firearms Act is most certainly not unconstitutional. Or are you seriously suggesting that anything that qualifies as a weapon is fair game? I'm sure there are some folks out there that have genetically modified anthrax for "duck hunting" if you know where to look. You should seriously look into the shenanigans that were happening prior to the act being passed. That was in response to such notables as Bonnie and Clyde, Baby Face Nelson, John Dillinger and "Machine Gun" Kelly were running amok with the use of the weapons that the law banned. I realized that the uneducated don't understand that constitutional amendments all have limits, but are you seriously suggesting that we should permit criminals to purchase military hardware that easily?
1
That's an aspect to consider, was there any actual damage done here? As you say, he literally bragged about grabbing women by their genitals without asking on that Access Hollywood tape, I don't think anybody watching the exchange that led to the suit would have their opinions negatively impacted by the segment as they either believe Trump's own statements about his conduct towards women or they likely are so stuck in their views that nothing can change them.
1
As I understand it, the basis for those class action suits is that the applicants were deprived of the application process they paid for, not that they necessarily would have gotten in. It's a much easier case to make, although not a slam dunk. With all the employees that have been caught up in this, the case may well go in favor of the plaintiffs. As they were deprived of the admissions process they were promised when they agreed to pay the applications fee.
1
The problem there is that you're assuming that people who didn't vote for Trump are people. Clearly we aren't, so crimes against us are not that big of a deal.
1
IIRC, the original settlement between Apple Records and Apple Computers included a prohibition onApple Computers becoming involved in any music related business. Ultimately, there was a new round of lawsuits when Apple introduced both the iPod and the ITMS.

I'm 43 and I've never voted in a Presidential election where the Democrats weren't freaking out about how I have to vote for them because the GOP is horrible. It's rarely about what they're going to do for me, or why they're worth voting for, ti's always to stop the GOP. Then they get into office, do barely anything to help me in any ways, put up a defense that's weak AF and then demand that I vote for them again because the GOP is so terrible. It seems to me that if the GOP is so terrible, that they would put some actual effort into living up to some of their campaign promises. They'd make the GOP pay when they try to steal SCOTUS picks, or would have flat out removed the judicial filibuster to fill those seats after heavily leaning on RBG to step down while they could still appoint somebody knowing that she wouldn't last another 8 years had Trump won the election and been reelected. The truth is that the Democrats don't care and haven't cared in decades. A GOP win just means more donations for them the next go round as they hang out with the various politicians and operatives supporting the GOP's efforts.
1
@YakubTheFather Yep, I haven't decided whom I'm voting for, but it definitely won't be Trump or Harris. They're both terrible and the choice there is whether you want your fascism here sooner, or later. Neither one represents actual legitimate democracy in action.
1
Because civil cases have nothing to do with guilt. He was found liable, which is the civil court equivalent of guilty.
1
That's been going on for decades ever since the GOP policy positions weren't popular enough to win elections. Then the Dems piled on as well as it allowed them to not have to take any responsibility for their policy positions. Now, it's basically just a matter of who was most effective at packing the court with incompetent justices.
1
The only way it ends is if people stop voting Blue or Red. Especially Blue as the Democrats are the ones doing this. They've chased the GOP to the point where what used to be a moderate Republican is now a Democrat and a liberal Democrat basically has no party.
1
@emsleywyatt3400 The issue is that according to the Democrats every one is a make it or break it and if they do get in with all the power, they don't do anything to fix the situation or give the people a reason to think that voting for them in the future is a good idea.
1
Sen. Collins is a useful idiot. She'll have qualms, but except in rare cases, she still votes the wrong way in most cases.
1
@etheth888 Presumably, around here you have to be at least 18.
1
In all fairness, the 3/5 compromise is somewhat less racist than people make it out to be. The racist part is that people were allowed to be owned as slaves on the basis of their race. The 3/5 compromise was a foot in the door towards giving them full constitutional rights. Admittedly, that's cold comfort for anybody that was living as a slave at the time, but it's not like the Northerners didn't get anything out of compromising there. It was more or less just the best they could do and it lasted less than 90 years.
1
@blakekaveny Was there ever a universe where they would? If the compromise didn't go through, we would have likely wound up with 2 countries and who even knows when slavery would have been abolished as there wouldn't have been a civil war that was largely focused on it.
1
@Foot751 It's because the Democrats are completely incompetent shills of more or less the same people as the GOP is. Had they let the voters choose the nominee in 2016, 2020 or 2024, he likely never would have been President. Even in 2020, he lost by a tighter margin than people realize. One of the big points of having primaries is that it helps the party to select a strong candidate with the best chances of winning and moving the party's agenda forward. Which is another issue, even when people do elect a Democrat to President, they fail to deliver any real help for the people. Obama was a particular fraud, he ran on the audacity of hope and governed on the mediocrity of what could be done without dirtying his image at all.
1
I would hope this would end the asinine practice of recommending things to users rather than just giving us more of what we asked for. That's the main weakness to Google's side. They choose what to present to users even when the users are asking for other content. If they were simply giving the users what we ask for rather than putting a thumb on the scale to ensure that certain outlets get views, they would be in a much stronger position.
1
TBH, it wouldn't surprise me if it was an unplanned stage slap with just enough on it to cause some redness. There's a rather large wind up from Smith and it looks like Rock is trying to dodge out of the way as he's being hit. But, it could also just be a larger than normal slap and Rock probably wasn't expecting anybody to be dumb enough to pull a stunt like that in front of such a large audience.
1
@Fr00stee Yes, the primaried LBJ and while that didn't work out due to them losing to Nixon, LBJ likely would have lost to Nixon as well, but at least there was a period where the Democratic Presidents couldn't take running again for granted if they didn't still have the support of the voters.
1
@deanjustdean7818 He doesn't have a right to an attorney in a civil matter. I do wish that it was a legal right, but it's not. That legal right is reserved for criminal proceedings and doesn't even guarantee that the lawyer is competent to practice.
