There's no need for a disclaimer, he is, as a matter of law, a convicted felon. So, he is a criminal, there's no legal requirement for a disclaimer as he's already been convicted.

@bgriffininsd Yep, and assuming that Trump cares, and could find an attorney, Devon would just point to the fact that Trump was a convicted felon when the statement was made and as such, isn't liable for anything. That would likely apply even if, for some reason, the conviction got overturned later, so long as no statements were made after that happened.

Arguably, we're already there at the Federal level, we get to choose from a small list of candidates that are approved of by the elites and nobody else wins with enough frequency to matter. The state and local level isn't as bad, but we're far further along the way than many realize.

And yet, the DNC chose to stick us with a terrible candidate that hasn't won a single primary.

@jasonmaclean719 You're entitled to that opinion. There's a bunch of other stupid positions that people are free to have. He committed felonies, and was convicted. He shouldn't have even been allowed to run this time due to the actions he took on January 6th until whatever legal proceedings related to that could be properly handled.

@stupedcraig Money in policitics is the only issue that definitely matters, although climate change is just barely behind it. You can't address any of our problems without getting the money out of politics and at this point, I don't even know what you can do to go to prison for corruption.

@kilroywashere9678 There's any number of candidates they could have chosen. It's the complete and utter refusal to address the obvious Biden situation until after the last minute coupled with a complete lack of any effort to try to select the best candidate they had at their disposal. It's sort of like in 2016 when they were so afraid of Bernie winning that they rigged in favor of HRC. HRC proceeded to pretty much completely drain their funds while barely losing costing the party's ability to engage in any sort of oversight or barrier to the worst things that Trump was saying he'd do.

Easy, both candidates suck and a massive number of the people that can vote, don't vote. The election is this close because the fraction of the people that care enough to vote can't agree on the candidate. But, rather than going after the various eligible non-voters, the Democrats keep going after GOP voters in pursuit of bipartisanship rather than going after the eligible non-voters. The 2020 race had high turnout of eligible voters, but it was only about 2/3 of the eligible voters as in if all the non-voters had turned out for a different candidate that other candidate might well have won.

@defenestrated23 Yes, and I'm not even sure what the claim there was, that she did something on October 13th, and I'm sure it is true, she did something on that day. I'm just not sure what it is or how that's similar to what Trump is accused of doing.
1
Because she sucks as a candidate wasn't even in the race 6 months ago and didn't have to justify her being given the nomination at the convention. Meanwhile, there are people that actually like Trump and want him to be win. I'm just surprised that it's not more tilted in favor of Trump as at least he has a history of winning a non-zero number of state primaries.

@majesticunicornturle Essentially yes, America has a left, it's just a non-voting left because there's nobody to vote for. Anybody that appeals to that isn't allowed to win or in the rare exception is corrupted almost immediately. Just look at how quickly the Squad got corrupted.

So, who do I vote for to get it to stop? I was stupid enough to vote for Obama and he was an absolute failure. He did nothing to prevent the SCOTUS from falling into the GOP hands. He backed down any time that the GOP threatened to filibuster a bill. And, then he helped rig both the 2016 and 2020 elections for weak candidates.
1
The real problem is that there are insufficient reasons to turn out to vote for Harris. If even a quarter of the non-voters turned out for a candidate, it would result in a land slide, but the Democrats are allergic to offering things to the people that they want and the GOP isn't afraid to.

@Dandelion_Stitches Yes, and yet the DNC forced Kamala on us without making her justify her nomination. As horrible as Trump is, he at least has won primaries and is doing what some portion of his base wants. Kamala is the nominee because she was the body left when Biden's performance was so bad that they couldn't continue gaslighting us about his abilities.

I'm 43 and I've never voted in a Presidential election where the Democrats weren't freaking out about how I have to vote for them because the GOP is horrible. It's rarely about what they're going to do for me, or why they're worth voting for, ti's always to stop the GOP. Then they get into office, do barely anything to help me in any ways, put up a defense that's weak AF and then demand that I vote for them again because the GOP is so terrible. It seems to me that if the GOP is so terrible, that they would put some actual effort into living up to some of their campaign promises. They'd make the GOP pay when they try to steal SCOTUS picks, or would have flat out removed the judicial filibuster to fill those seats after heavily leaning on RBG to step down while they could still appoint somebody knowing that she wouldn't last another 8 years had Trump won the election and been reelected. The truth is that the Democrats don't care and haven't cared in decades. A GOP win just means more donations for them the next go round as they hang out with the various politicians and operatives supporting the GOP's efforts.
1
@YakubTheFather Yep, I haven't decided whom I'm voting for, but it definitely won't be Trump or Harris. They're both terrible and the choice there is whether you want your fascism here sooner, or later. Neither one represents actual legitimate democracy in action.
1
The only way it ends is if people stop voting Blue or Red. Especially Blue as the Democrats are the ones doing this. They've chased the GOP to the point where what used to be a moderate Republican is now a Democrat and a liberal Democrat basically has no party.
1
@emsleywyatt3400 The issue is that according to the Democrats every one is a make it or break it and if they do get in with all the power, they don't do anything to fix the situation or give the people a reason to think that voting for them in the future is a good idea.
1
The Democrats rig their primaries and then capitulate to the GOP at just about every opportunity, they're not exactly any bigger supporters of Democracy than the GOP is.
