@Leo-wk7yw Because it was a massive scandal that caused the only President to ever resign to do so. It was also a cautionary tale as to why we have the checks and balances that we do. There's a bunch of other stuff that happened before I was born that I was taught even though it didn't seem immediately applicable to what was going on at the time.

Most people fail to understand just how secret information leaks out. It's unusual for one person to leak all of it, it's usually a bit here and a bit there, most people being trained on how to handle classified documents ultimately give up all the goods when they're first learning how to handle it.

That doesn't mean that there wasn't a there there. The materials were supposed to be reviewed by the appropriate government attorneys before being dealt with. The fact that she was commingling official emails with personal emails is in and of itself a problem. It's probably what happened with that Signal chat.

She didn't have the appropriate attorneys review the documents on the servers before deletion. And, IIRC, the still retained control of that material after she left her office.

Are we really surprised though? It's been public knowledge that that's how the drone strikes work for literal decades now.
