  2. That's because you've got an ethical base. These are all lies, it's just that rather than being completely made up, they depend upon selectively editing the information to make it sound different than it really is. If you've got to tell somebody that what you said was only technically true, it wasn't.

  3.  @mierrasanders3373  No, it is lying, if what you're selectively editing what you communicate in order to give a false impression, that is the essence of lying. Lying is a more expansive term than what people realize, if you pulled this kind of stuff on the witness stand, you'd be risking a conviction for perjury. Lying is when you don't, tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. In the case of doublespeak, that's really not the cas.e
