  1. I'd point out that this is probably only being considered because he's in Washington State. Around here it can be extremely hard to find a woman to begin with, let alone one that's worth having. Too many men, not enough women. That being said, getting back with the ex is asking for trouble. In this case, the most loving and caring thing you could do for each other is not get back together.

And I suppose the next thing you'll tell me is that anybody that isn't rich is lazy. /sarcasm For those of us in the real world, meeting somebody worth committing to requires that there are people worth committing to out there. Men seeking love locally face a decision to either relocate for love or face the very real possibility that they won't find anybody that's both willing to commit and worth having. Even if we redefine worth having to the possession of a pulse. This isn't really that much different from areas of the country where there are no men, except in those areas, there are usually men, just not necessarily men that possess college degrees. And BTW, the condescension is hardly helpful. You try finding a date in a city where men outnumber women by a significant margin and many of those men moved here with absurd salaries to boot. Not to mention where nobody actually talks to each other because the women frequently threaten to mace any man foolish enough to try.

  3. TBH, moving to a foreign country tends to change the math on this sort of thing. It's probably easier to find a woman in Italy than in WA, but figuring out who is and isn't worth ones time and trying to filter out ones that are just looking for a green card makes it somewhat more risky.
