@416XYZ Yes, although probably not for the reasons you're thinking. They need to be banned because they give a massive advantage to people that can afford the time off when it comes to getting a job. If properly enforced, they don't really cause any other harms as the companies are not supposed to be having the interns do things other than what would reasonably be classified as educational.

I got told off because my store manager was being written up for my department under performing. Only thing is that she'd demoted me already, cut me out of the bonus for managing the department through the holidays and I was still doing most of the work for the entire department because she'd hired an inexperienced manager and couldn't be bothered to make sure that he knew what to do. I quit a couple days later. The whole thing wound up costing the store thousands of dollars in lost sales over what they would have had to pay me to stick around.
