  1. Another solution to the light switch and switching the bed stand lights is to get ones that have an electronic switch that turns themselves back on when power is restored. One of the things that I like about my Hue lights is that if I need them on, I can always power cycle them to get them back on. And, I can have a remote control by my bed. That way, I can turn them off from bed and use the light switch as well. There's likely other smart lights and plugs that do that.
