  1. The English language is a beautiful thing but the British version is stuck in the past and refuses to grow up. Still, listening to an erudite well-spoken Brit is hard to beat. Eloquent speakers are rarer than hen's teeth nowadays. One gets the impression people are learning English from social media. Sadly most of these people don't care. And as a francophone I find that maddening.
